My Journal December 22, 2012 The day after the cataclysm
May 31st, 2008I didn’t get much sleep last night. The groans and sounds of the planet reforming was deafening. The tectonic plates were moving throughout the night. It started right around midnight as our planet came into alignment with the center of the milky way, an occurrence that only comes around about every 26,000 years. The morning broke rather ominously Instead of a nice bright sunrise I was greeted by a hazy dim sun, apparently a lot of stuff has been kicked up into the atmosphere. I wonder if along with the plates reforming there has been a surge of volcanic activity?
Of course no one is alive that witnessed the last time this happened. However we were given a lot of notice by the Mayan culture and all of the prophetic individuals since that time. No one listened because Al Gore got everyone confused over his global warming theory, so instead of focusing on an imminent danger the world was preoccupied with a distant future maybe problem.
Besides the Mayan prophecies we had other warning signs that the planet was changing. The magnetic north had been drifting at an increasingly fast rate in recent years [ http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/earth_poles_040407.html ] . With the plates in the mantle moving around it has likely reversed poles by this time.
There is no power, which means no internet or cable TV. I kept one wired land line telephone in case of power outages, but any calls I tried outside the area were met with a recording “All circuits are busy”. Arrrgghh! almost no coffee, then i remembered that we have a gas stove, so I go to fire up a pot of water and the tectonic action must have broken the gas lines since we also have no gas. Off to plan “C” the propane BBQ grill, I get some water boiling and make some old fashioned boiled coffee.
First thing I did this morning was to pull out my battery powered TV - oops it seems that they reallocated the TV spectrum back in 2009 and there is no over the air TV available. The only hope for TV is if some renegade nerd fires up one of the old transmitters. Then I turned to my crank / solar powered radio the shortwave bands are really buzzin, mostly with people in distress and wondering if there are any other survivors. In the commercial AM band, I find a few stations on the air. These are mostly in the midsection of the country and the news is not good at all. From what i hear the axis of the planet shifted along with everything else and so the satellites are no longer where they used to be and they are not able to access them, but from what they have been able to find out it appears that both coasts are pretty much gone … submerged like Atlantis had been. And the Mississippi river has widened to about 5 miles and everything along it’s coast is now gone as well. There are stories of other large rifts in the continent dividing north America into three pieces. Small plane owners and amateur radio operators are all working to bring us the best assessment they can of this global cataclysm.
Overnight our civilization has been tossed back to the stone ages. I am very happy that we escaped from California to the heartland when we did, we are still alive but now the next key is to survive. I hear on the radio that in major cities there are already riots. Looters taking plasma TV’s and so on … what idiots, there will not be any TV entertainment for a long time if at all.
It is just about noon now, I will continue this later
This Journal will be a continuing saga, please stay tuned and I will try to keep you updated.
