A License to own??
In Kentucky, On Jan 30, 2008, A paralyzed man sleeps peacefully in his bed.
When he awakes he notices four tips of his toes have been chewed off by his pit bull pup.
A friend who was staying with the man said he had picked up several pieces of the mans toes
that day and the dog had chewed them to the joint. The dog was not hungry since there was
a bowl of half eaten dog food in the dog dish. After investigation it also had appeared
that there was no abuse involved either.
Just last December in Southern California, there was another incident Involving a pack of
Pitbulls who surrounded a 45 year old woman and mauled her to death. At the scene one
of the dogs was shot to death do to its aggressive behavoir towards the paramedics.
Why is it okay for just anybody to own a pittbull? They are well known for being vicious,
and also known for turning on their owners. I know that if the dog causes death to someone,
the owners will face charges. But this does not stop other pitbulls from attacking in the
furture.
Its so easy for an irresponsible person to get a pit bull. No Interviews, No age limit,
No background check. Do they have a fenced in yard? Do they themselves have a history of
violence? What about children in the house?
I can not begin to imagine waking up one morning and realizing that my dog just ate my toes!
I guess its better then the cat eating my face tho.
